A Golf Fitness Program

November 26th, 2009 No comments

Does the average golfer need to worry about fitness? How fit do you need to be to play golf?

Surely being fit does not make you a better player. Have a look at some of the professionals ……. some of the unfit ones can hit the ball out of sight.

If you want to hit the ball further, and play golf free of pain, following a strength training program could be worth considering. Most players would be happy to add 30-50 yards to their drives, and without doubt, all golfers would love to finish a round of golf feeling good, and without aches and pains.

Yet very few golfers consider it important to condition themselves physically. And if they do consider it, it is not something that has a very high priority for them. Most would consider spending more time on the practice fairway more important than spending time on a golf fitness program.

Perhaps the old myth still persists.” That all forms strength training will result in bulky, tight muscles with limited range of movement”. Well that is not true. It takes a very specific type of weight training to bulk up – something that is not needed in golf.

Or maybe it’s because physical make-up never relates to a person’s handicap. Golf is played by such a wide range of people. Golfers range from 8 years old to 80, overweight, thin, tall, short, fit and unfit, and they all compete on a level playing field. Yet with the right conditioning program every one of those players would improve their game.

If you’re new to the game, following a golf strength training program will give you a solid and well-balanced base on which to build the fundamentals of a good swing. For the seasoned low-handicappers, strength conditioning can certainly give you a significant competitive edge and lower your handicap still further.

If you are still young – start a golf strength training program now and you can build a healthy, balanced body that stays free of back pain, and other strains. And for the more senior players – it’s never too late to redress the physical imbalances that have occurred through years of playing.

Not only will a golf fitness program improve your golf, it will also have a positive effect on your overall fitness and health.

Golf Training – How Much Do You Need?

November 14th, 2009 Comments off

In an effort to improve my game I have spend a lot of money and an enormous amount of time on golf instruction.

I have bought countless magazines looking for golf swing tips and how to improve your golf swing.  There have been lots of visits to the professionals for golf lessons to try to find the correct golf grip and the best golf swing speed.

Some people can manage to play great golf with very little need for golf instruction.  Their game can remain consistent or improve because they have mastered the ability to perform the same action time and time again.

The key to being a good golfer is that ability to swing the club the same way every time.  Even if it is not the perfect golf swing, it needs to be the same golf swing as the last one.

After many years of spending time and money on golf training, I have found the consistency I have been searching for.  I found it in a program called The Simple Golf Swing.  This easy to implement program is inexpensive and really works.  My scores are proof of that.  Within a few weeks of starting the program there was noticeable change to the length and accuracy of my shots, and my confidence was high.

Having confidence in your own ability and finding your best golf swing is the key.  You will be able to repeat the same swing time and time again will have your handicap tumbling.

Check out The Simple Golf Swing if you are serious about improving your game.
